About the Show: Gotham

Gotham TV Series

Introducing Gotham, the iconic American TV series that has enthralled audiences since its 2014 premiere on Fox. This captivating show is based on DC Comics’ beloved Batman franchise. It follows Ben McKenzie’s portrayal of James Gordon as he makes his way to becoming the police commissioner of Gotham City. Accumulating a massive following over five incredible seasons, this highly-rated crime drama concluded with an epic finale airing in April 2019.

The show follows Gordon’s rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner while pursuing justice for Gotham’s citizenry. Along the way, he must confront villains such as Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), Scarecrow (Charlie Tahan), and many more. He also partners with Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) to help him understand the criminal underworld of Gotham City and protect its citizens from corruption.

Gotham is celebrated for its dynamic aesthetics and talented cast, including Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, David Zayas as Sal Maroni and Jada Pinkett Smith’s captivating portrayal of Fish Mooney. The series was a smash hit in terms of ratings for Fox and earned numerous awards and nominations throughout its run – most notably Ben McKenzie’s outstanding performance that truly brought Gordon to life.

Despite its popularity with audiences, Gotham had mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its visual style and performances while others criticizing its reliance on comic book tropes. Nonetheless, it remains a fan-favorite show and an enduring part of the Batman mythos. Running the show for consecutive 5 seasons, the creators have finally decided to end it there and hence, there will be no Gotham Season 6 in the making whatsoever.

What could have been Gotham Season 6 Release Date?

Gotham Season 6 Release Date

On May 13, 2018, the creators of Gotham announced that season 5 would be the show’s final installment. As a result, no release date for Season 6 has been made available as of yet. The series finale was released on August 25, 2019, and had it gone into production, season 6 would have been released in 2020 already. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option, and fans will never get to find out what could have been in store for the show’s final season.

What would Gotham Season 6 Cast be Like?

Gotham Season 6 Cast

The regulars would have been the same as in Season 6, with Ben McKenzie playing James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean. Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox and David Zayas as Sal Maroni could have all reprised their roles for Gotham season 6. Where and When Gotham Season 6 Trailer would have released?

Gotham Season 6 trailer would have released in Summer 2020 if the show was renewed for its sixth installment. It would have most likely been released during Comic-Con or another related event, and it could have featured some exciting teasers about what’s to come in the final season of the series.

Fans can only imagine what kind of trailers we would have seen with all the new characters, storylines, and action sequences that could have been included in Gotham season 6. Unfortunately, we will never find out now as there are no plans to make a sixth season of the show.

What could have been Gotham Season 6 Plot?

Gotham Season 6 Plot

Gotham Season 6 would have been set after the events of season 5, with Bruce Wayne finally becoming Batman. The story’s focus would be on Gordon and his allies trying to keep the city safe from criminals such as Penguin and Catwoman while also keeping an eye on Bruce to ensure he doesn’t get too close to becoming a vigilante.

It would have been interesting to see how Gordon adapts to the changes in Gotham City and if he can catch up with the new wave of villains that have started taking over. Some crossover episodes could have featured other characters from DC Comics, such as Harley Quinn, Green Arrow, or Supergirl. We can only imagine what might have happened in Season 6, but unfortunately, it will remain a mystery.

How Many Episodes Would Gotham Season 6 have?

Every season before the 5th installment had 20+ episodes; however, the last one we saw had 12. That means the creators had nothing to extend the story in the sixth season and reduced it to 12 episodes. With that said, if Gotham Season 6 were made, there would be a total of fewer than 12 episodes in the series.

About Gotham Season 6 Premier Date

Gotham Season 6 Premier Date

As mentioned earlier, if Season 6 had to happen, it would have made it in the summer of 2020. The exact date would depend on the other shows aired on Fox, but it could be around late August or early September. Fans could have had to wait a few more months to watch the show, but all that is now a thing of the past.

Final Renewal Status of Gotham Series

The finale of Gotham season 5 aired in August 2019, and no renewal was announced. The show was officially canceled after the fifth installment, and there are no plans for a Season 6. Fans can still watch reruns of the previous seasons to escape into an alternate world of crime-fighting heroes and villains.

Although we will never know what would have been in store for Gotham Season 6, fans can take comfort in knowing that the series ended on a high note with its exciting finale.
